We often get asked about the security features of YourPCM and whether our subscribers' contact data will be safe. With so many data breaches happening around the world, what steps do we take to ensure it doesn't happen to us?
At YourPCM, we take the security and privacy of our subscribers very seriously!
Most importantly, we feel that our level of security is as good as, if not better than, the mainstream CRMs. Our development team have gone above and beyond to ensure our security is world-class. We're registered with the UK Information Commissioners Office and we follow their guidelines on data protection to the letter:
The first layer of security is that each subscriber gets their own private URL which is never shared with anyone else. It's private to you and you alone. We'll never tell anyone what it is, and neither should you.
Secondly, all YourPCM interactions are secured with an SSL-certificate. This ensures that any data sent between your computers and our servers is encrypted and can't be read by anyone else without thousands of years spare to decrypt the data.
And thirdly, our servers are all housed in UK datacentres. This means that your data will never travel into other jurisdictions where privacy and security laws may not be as comprehensive as ours are. If you're in the UK and we're in the UK, then your data stays in the UK too.
But it goes much further than that! We have an automated security system lurking in the background. When we created our logo we thought about including a fourth golden person in the group at the back. We decided against it because the security system hides in the background and should never be seen unless it's needed.
"It's a little inside joke that there is a fourth person in the logo, but you just can't see them!"
So, what can it do? Well, we don't talk about it publically because you never want to give away the keys to the city. Let's just say that if you try to log in (or are already using it) and find yourself unexpectedly looking at the yourpcm.uk homepage, then the security has been tripped and you should immediately speak to our subscriber team. We'll find out why and get you access again.
As we said above, we feel that the security of YourPCM is as good as, if not better than, that of the mainstream CRMs. Our development team have gone above and beyond to ensure our security is world-class and is always looking for ways to improve it further.
